Cheyenne Public Piano Project

Public pianos painted by local community artists have caught on around the world . . and now Cheyenne will have its first artist-decorated instrument on the Depot Plaza this summer.

Visit Cheyenne and Arts Cheyennearranged to have local artist Maura Jacobsen design and paint an old piano donated by Niemann Music.  This inaugural piano will be placed at the northwest corner of the Depot Plaza . . and a second art piano will be unveiled later in the summer.

Local musician “Rattlesnake Jake” Martin will serenade Depot Plaza visitors and Cheyenne Trolley passengers on Sundays through the summer.  Otherwise, the art piano will be available for the public to admire and play.
