Planning Underway for 2017 Cheyenne Arts Festival – August 18-20

Planning for the Cheyenne Arts Festival is underway and becoming more visible with the opening of visual artist applications for the popular arts & culture event.  Applications will be juried over the next couple of months, with final visual artist selections planned for May 12th.

The Festival Performance Stage lineup will also be announced in the spring.  Vendor applications for the Artisan Boulevard section of the Festival will be available on March 1.

This year’s CAF will return to the Cheyenne Depot Plaza and Museum . . a location that worked well for last year’s event, said Bill Lindstrom, Executive Director of Arts Cheyenne.

“The Plaza and the Museum are flexible event locations . . and the Cheyenne Arts Festival with all its creative sections needs that flexibility to be a good host for the artists, musicians, dancers, vendors and of course, the attendees and supporters,” said Lindstrom.  “It’s a fun, central location for a regional event like this one!”

Lindstrom added Festival planners are enthusiastic about the event taking place just before the total solar eclipse that will traverse across the center of Wyoming the day after the Festival ends.  He expects the eclipse will help attract more out-of-town artists and visitors to the Festival.

The Cheyenne Arts Festival is a joint project of Arts Cheyenne and the Cheyenne DDA/Main Street.
