Alternative Arts Project

The positive effects of music on a child are immeasurable.

It increases their self esteem, it keeps them engaged and off the streets, it improves their academic performance and it increases the likelihood of graduation.

The Alternative Arts Program at McCormick Junior High
is a new after-school program that is intended to show kids the importance of music and arts in life.  It covers guitar playing.

Free and open to junior high and high school students.  Parents need to sign a form that’s available in the front office at McCormick.

Time:  After school, at 4 pm

Tuesdays:  drop in sessions.  Kids can practice what they’ve learned at the Wednesday lessons

Wednesdays:  free music lessons in guitar  (expanding to other music forms in the future)

FMI:  635-3612
