2023 Photo contest theme:

“Workscapes: Unveiling Cheyenne’s Labor”

63% of Laramie County residents go to work everyday, and those workers contribute to all aspects of our economy. This theme celebrates those that fix our roads, feed our families, and keep us safe.

Registration

  • Registration is June 30th -October 23rd, 2023 at Cheyenne Creativity Center, 1620 Thomes Ave
      • Tuesday-Thursday 11a-6p
      • Friday and Saturday 11 a-5p
  • All photos must be received (dropped off) by October 23rd, 2023
  • Photos must be picked up at the Cheyenne Creativity Center between December 5th-12th, 2023
      • Tuesday-Thursday 12p-6p
      • Friday and Saturday 12p-5p

Exhibit Dates

  • All photos will be on exhibit at the Cheyenne Creativity Center, 1620 Thomes Ave
  • The Display period will be from Friday, November 3rd through Thursday November 30th during normal operating hours:
    • Tuesday-Thursday 12p-6p
    • Friday and Saturday 12p-5p
  • Entries will be on view in the Shonsey-Jenkins Gallery at the Center
  • A Reception will be held on Friday, November 3rd from 5-8 pm as a part of the monthly First Friday Artwalk
  • Awards will be announced at 6:00 pm during the reception

Fees

  • Adult Entries

    • Entry fee of $5 covers one(1)entry
    • A maximum of three (3) entries per person
    • Contest is limited to the first 150 photos submitted
  • Youth Entries:

    • 1st photo will be free
    • Limit of 15 free entries in the Youth division
    • If a Youth participant submits more than 1 photo, each photo after the 1st one will be $5( max of 3 photos).

Sale of Photos

Photographer must fill out “ForSale” information on entry form

Buyers must submit payment to ‘Arts Cheyenne’. All transactions will be managed by the Creativity Center, and will apply applicable sales tax to the asking price.

A deduction of 30% will be made by the Cheyenne Creativity Center on any photos sold. This is the standard commission rate of The Creativity Center, and all proceeds from sales go back towards Creativity Center Operations.

Photographers will receive a check from sales from Arts Cheyenne at the conclusion of the exhibit, and by October 30th, 2023.

Photo Information

  • Photo image (without matting or framing) must be 5”x7” or larger, and may not exceed 24″x 36”
  • We accept Canvas, Wood and Metal Prints
  • Entry form must be secured to the back of each photo entry
  • Photos should be as recent as possible (limit 5 years)

Rules & Regulations

  • Metal or plastic certificate frames and document holders may not be used
  • Glass or acrylic must cover the image and matting for protection (unless canvas / metal / wood print)
  • Please do not attach photo title to glass, matting, or other frames
  • All entries must have a wire hanger on the back of the canvas, frame, or metal print
  • Tape, yarn or other weak holding methods will not be accepted and may result in a disqualification
  • Arts Cheyenne are not responsible for entries damaged, lost, or stolen
  • The ‘Workscapes: Unveiling Cheyenne’s Labor” Photo Contest and Exhibit is limited to Laramie County Residents only

How to enter:

1. Please print out the photo contest registration form and include it with your payment and photo submission.

2. Please bring your framed photo, your photo registration form, and your payment to the Cheyenne Creativity Center by October 23, 2023, 6:00 pm.
