Live Music in Cheyenne

Live music is inherent in any community and often sets the literal tone for a part of that community’s identity. Cheyenne is no different and over the past 2 decades has experienced a renaissance in music accessibility in our area.

From Funeral Fridays and Wyoming Waves bringing rap, hip-hop and recording opportunities, to our various instrumental and choral groups, to rock, punk, metal and country shows–we know how to have a good time around good music.

Fridays in the Asher

What we all remember as Fridays in the Asher, that great music series that happened in late winter when we were all tired of the wind, actually started in 2012 as Fridays in the Hynds.

The event was an 8 week music series that invited local and regional bands and individuals to perform for a few hours downtown each Friday evening. It was organized at first by an ad hoc group of individuals, led by the notable Mike Morris, and then came under Arts Cheyenne’s wings in 2017 with continued leadership from Mike. The performances ranged through all genres and has a beloved history spanning 8 years. From the various Patti Fiasco appearances, to Slow Caves and our own Josh Gonzales Band, to Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers and to that epic Aaron Jones and the Way show, this series is held dear in everyone lucky enough to have experienced its time.
